Year 6 to 7 Transition 2020

Welcome to The Wavell School!

Transferring from Primary to Secondary School  is an exciting time during which the children have the opportunity to do many new things, meet and make new friends, work with new teachers and explore some new subjects but it can also be an unsettling time for both children and their families.

In order to help you find the relevant information within our school website we have created this page as a central hub for all Year 6 to 7 transition information.

Please take the time to browse our website. Click on the buttons below to find out more about some key information to get you started.

Induction Process

As you can appreciate, it has been difficult to put definitive plans in place for an induction programme this summer and, taking into consideration government guidance, we have made the decision not to run any induction days during the summer term. We are mindful that the induction programme should be a positive experience, giving the students the opportunity to get to know the school, its staff and fellow students. We will therefore now focus on completing a full induction programme at the start of September.

Over the next few weeks we will be sending out more information about the induction process. There will also be some tasks for your child to complete in preparation.

We hope our transition programme will give our new Year 7 students and their families the opportunity to find out all about the Wavell and begin to feel confident about joining us in September. We look forward to meeting you all then!
