Girls in STEM Day
by Kanishka B Y10
Participating in Girls in STEM Day on Thursday 21st May 2026 was a really fun and inspiring experience. We got to take part in different activities, hear from women working in STEM careers, and learn more about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and maths. The event encouraged us to be confident in our abilities and showed how important it is to have more women involved in STEM fields.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was visiting the different STEM stalls. A particularly interesting one was the BAE Systems stall, where they demonstrated how submarines are designed and operated. We even got to use virtual reality headsets to explore and experience aspects of submarine technology, which made the activity interactive and memorable.
We were also provided with a great lunch, with beef bolognese available as well as mac and cheese for the vegetarian option. There was also a variety of desserts, including cookies, brownies, and flapjacks, which were all amazing and really added to the experience.
